Brief History
We are a congregation begun by the American Lutheran Church in 1972 as a daughter congregation of Messiah Lutheran, and a granddaughter of Trinity Lutheran.

Since that time, we have served the Felida, Salmon Creek, Ridgefield, Hazel Dell and greater Vancouver communities.

​Location 
Family of Christ is located in a suburban neighborhood of the Felida area of Vancouver, Washington. We are west of Salmon Creek and southwest of Ridgefield, located just minutes south from the West end of the Salmon Creek Green way Trail. Click here for directions and a map. 

Parking
Family of Christ has a generous parking lot in front or our building as well as around the back with several accessible parking spaces located near the main entrances from both locations.  Overflow parking in available on the side street. 

Worship--Connecting the Scriptures with our Christian Faith and Life Experience 
Our music and worship style is a traditional Lutheran service that follows the four-part liturgical order of gathering, word, meal (communion), and sending. The order of service is easy to follow through a printed worship folder. Some people are dressed up a bit for worship, but most of our worshipers are dressed casually. Children are always welcome with us in worship. 

We use a variety of liturgies throughout the year, each with a unique tone and centered in biblical texts.  Readings from the Old and New Testament are shared and pastor’s sermon  flows from the texts of the day.  Congregation participation is at the heart of our time together, so lay worship assistants and youth acolytes serve right beside the pastor. Of course, there is lots of singing.  

Holy Communion is celebrated every Sunday.  At Family of Christ everyone is welcome at the table by our Lord’s invitation.  

Children
Relax! God put the wiggle in children; don't feel you have to suppress it in God's house. ALL are welcome. Their participation in worship is important in learning this faith practice. 

Joining Family of Christ
Exploring membership meetings are led by Pastor Kit at various times throughout the year. Please speak with her if you want to join with us in membership.
